Today is my half birthday and let me guess, you didn't get me anything.
Well, it is never too late to use the donate button on my radio show page. Sure there is no explanation to what you are actually donating towards (yet), but that's not the point. The point is that it is actually my half birthday, and you have forgotten.
Maybe you are thinking, why would anyone celebrate their half birthday, and to those thoughts, I respond in the following paragraphs:
The half birthday is a day in which you have the opportunity to review the last half year of your life, without the guilt of being 'a year older'.
Six months ago I was most likely freaking out about the idea of having to remember that I am no longer a 23 year old, and that I will soon belong to the 25-40 age category.
Today though? I'm happy to be a 24 year old, and I can now sit back and reflect upon what I have accomplished at this age, and figure out what I want to happen in the next 6 months, before I turn 25.
The icing on the non existing half birthday cake is that there are no forced celebrations, no guilt about doing nothing on this day, and at the same time, I could get silly drunk by myself, and if anyone questioned it, I could just say, "whatever, it's my half birthday!"
